The final meeting of the HelpMeWalk project took place on March 30, 2026, at the ICube laboratory – TPS – Télécom Physique Strasbourg, in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, France.
Participants included project partners (HFU, HKSL, FHNW, BellwaldTEC), representatives of the funding bodies (INTERREG and the Sciences Pillar), as well as colleagues from other projects (KTUR).
During the morning session, the partners presented the project’s results. Each team gave a presentation on the outcomes achieved over the two years of the project’s implementation:
# Introduction to the HelpMeWalk project – Morgan MADEC: project coordinator (UNISTRA)
# Digitizing the shape of a foot in less than 3 seconds: analysis of initial results obtained on patients requiring ankle-foot orthosis, AFO – Joris PASCAL (FHNW)
# Washable encapsulation of flexible sensor circuit boards – Nicolas PFAFF (HFU)
# Machine-learning algorithm applied to magnetic localization – Manon LAMBERT (UNISTRA)
# Model guided point cloud-surface reconstruction – Fabien WILHELM (HS-KL)
# Deep learning based-model for shape reconstruction using measured and synthetic data – Sarah CHOUCHENE (UNISTRA)

In the afternoon, a demonstration of the prototype developed in collaboration with the company BellwaldTec took place.

The prototype presentation took place in the TPS hall and was open to the public. Professor Joris Pascal (FHNW) presented the prototype developed by the project.
The presentation was delivered in French, while questions were addressed in French, English, and German.
The demonstration of the bandage’s functionality, as well as the acquisition of a leg image, was carried out by Corentin Fery, now Head of R&D at BellwaldtTEC.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming professionals from the field, including orthotists-prosthetists from the Institut Universitaire de Réadaptation Clémenceau: Mr. Masse and Mr. Sylvain Regnard, as well as Mr. Alexander Baer, Head of Business Development at Sanitätshaus Aktuell AG (Vettelschoß, Germany).
